From the moment you walk inside, traditional Indian aromas of cardamom, turmeric, and the warmth of ginger welcome your senses. Located on S. Gulph Road, near the Best Western Hotel, Desi Village Restaurant serves delicious Indian/Pakistanian cuisine in a casual atmosphere. You will find the friendly wait staff to be knowleged, patient and very helpful when deciding on a vegetarian or non-vegetarian dish. Appetizers include chat papri (a mixture of crisps, potatoes and chick peas in yogurt and tamarind sauce), bail puri, a mixture of rice flakes tossed with onions, potatoes, tomatoes and topped with tamarind and mint sauce), shrimp til tikka (batter fried shrimp coated with roasted sesame seeds). Tandorri Specials include malai kabab, chicken breast cutlets flavored with cardamom and coriander), boti kabab (Lamb marinated in herbs and spices then barbecued), salmon tandoori (salmon cutlet marinated in exotic spices and herbs barbecued in a clay oven), wonderful chicken, seafood, lamb specialties vegetarian specialties are available in a variety of sauces. In addition, there is a range of rice, breads and dessert choices. Desi Village provides a wonderful atmosphere for a romantic dinner or friendly gathering. Reservations are available for corporate and family gatherings too. Desi Village is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week.
